Iris Chan is the Head of Corporate Risk & Broking, Hong Kong & Macau and Executive Director of Construction Hong Kong & Macau at WTW Hong Kong.
She is responsible for driving business opportunities and leads a team of over 90 risk advisors and brokers in delivering professional, quality, consistent and timely insurance consultancy and broking service to clients. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, Iris has held various senior positions with major insurance brokers in Asia. She is devoted to seeking innovative and the best risk transfer solutions for infrastructure, superstructure, hospitality, power and petrochemical projects in the region. Her core expertise includes contentious claims handling, lender advisory, risk analysis, insurance broking, and managing self-retention insurance programmes and captives. In 2021, Iris was recognised by Insurance Business as one of Asia’s Elite Women in the insurance industry for not only going above and beyond for clients and organisations she collaborated and partnered with; but also for championing diversity in the insurance industry. She was also featured as one of the outstanding professionals in Insurance Business Global 100 report in 2022. At WTW, Iris leads the Inclusion and Diversity Committee (I&D) in Hong Kong, working with a group of colleagues in various networks driving Gender Equity, LGBT+ and Workability initiatives to create an inclusive culture in the workforce. In recent years, she has also devoted her time enthusiastically to guiding the career development of young professionals, helping them to achieve their career goals by offering career opportunities and her experience and knowledge- sharing.
Iris is a member of HKCA (Hong Kong Construction Association) and HKAOF (Hong Kong Academy of Finance), while acting as the Responsible Officer for Willis Hong Kong Ltd at the HKIA (Hong Kong Insurance Authority). From 2022 to 2023, she was a General Committee member at The Hong Kong Confederation of Insurance Brokers (CIB). She was also a convener of the Publicity, Promotion & Members Relations sub-committee. Iris holds a B.S. (admin) in Marketing from the RMIT University, Melbourne. She is also a Senior Associate of The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.
